3. To start applying the cement: Take trowels full of cement and drop them around the mold at the base until there is cement where the mold sits on the base.

This collar of cement will anchor the mold to the base

Next begin to lift the cement, using a float, up from the base and into the wire on the mold.

4. ALWAYS work from bottom up. Gravity will naturally pull your cement down so you need to always work against gravity.  Using trowels and floats, put the first pass of cement on the mold.

5.  After the walls are nearly finished you make the lip of the tank.  You lift  the cement using your float up to the top edge of the mold where you are holding your trowel flat on the lip of the mold. This will give you a nice flat edge to the tank.

6. While first pass is finished (Hopefully before 10:00) and drying, you will eat breakfast and then make the tank lid.

Lid Construction
The lid is made of aluminum sheeting (lamina) cut into a circle a bit bigger than the tank.  BE CAREFUL! It is easy to cut yourself on this aluminum.

Take the 10 ft (3.05m) sheet of metal, measuring carefully, cut it in half 1.52 cm
(2 five ft pieces).    Take the pieces and carefully set them on top of the mold.

Once they are adjusted and aligned to cover the tank, making sure there is a four inch over hang, use a marker and your fist to mark the bottom side of the aluminum.
