First inside Pass

4. While the mold is being removed, the other part of the team should be mixing the cement. 

For the inside pass it will only take 3 botes de arena, 1 bote of cement and very little water (1 1/4 bote de agua). It is always better to put too little water than too much into the mix. 

Once your inside guy is ready for cement and the cement is ready for him/her; put one or two shovels full of cement mix into a bucket (1/2) and carefully hand it over the wall to him/her. 

The bucket will be emptied onto the floor inside the tank then handed back out for more cement. 

You will store on the floor 3 to 4 half buckets of mixed cement. 

Once there is sufficient cement inside the tank to start, hand in a small pail of water and a sponge.

5. The inside guy will begin to put on the first inside pass of cement.  As you can see in the photo, the float is used in a right to left horizontal motion,  the mix is applied just thick enough to slightly cover the "Ribs", the first pass must be thin so it will dry quickly. 

It will be up to him her to keep the cement loose and softened to apply to the walls (using a bit of water, and a slicing action with the trowel on the pile of cement on the floor). 

This part of the tank construction requires lots of patience. If the mix is too wet, it will fall off the wall,  if it is too dry it will be too thick. The first inside pass should be very thin, and it should be left rough so the second pass sticks to it better!

Once the inside pass is done, carefully get him/her a ladder to get out. 

Remove the ladder so that it doesn't accidentally get knocked over into the walls.

The first pass will need about 2 hours to dry. Now you will have time for breakfast, visiting with the family, cleaning and oiling the mold, and sifting sand for the next tank.
