Water storage and improved sanitation are two areas of great need in Chiapas. Many common diseases in Chiapas are the result of poor sanitation and contaminated drinking water.
We assist poor families in building ventilation improved latrines and ferro-cement water tanks.
Our low cost tanks, 1500 liter, are constructed in 3 half-days of work. Families share the cost of their tanks by providing food, a worker to mix cement and 2 bags of cement.
