Water Filtration Technologies
The emphasis of this one-week course is for students to learn how to build, use and maintain the CAWST (Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology) household BioSand water filter. Equip instructors are CAWST certified. Students make an actual concrete filter, clean and sort the media used inside the filter and ensure the newly constructed BioSand filter is operating correctly. In addition to the BioSand household filter, other low cost filter technologies are examined. CAWST website - www.cawst.org
